Special thanks to the SG team and all who made this possible. Another one of our colleagues has freshly returned from their Access All Areas Explorer adventure. Vishal took off from Mumbai to London and shared his experience.

"The Access All Areas initiative gave me an unparalleled opportunity and memories that I will thoroughly cherish for a lifetime! The initiative, which allowed me to live and work in a new place for a couple of weeks, truly enriched my professional and personal outlook! Working out of the WS London office allowed me to discover a new culture, engage and learn from colleagues there, and even meet with current and former clients who are otherwise just thumbnails on a video call! Not only are our colleagues there welcoming and happy to share local nuances; I also presented local market insights from India. Spending time in the office with them gave me a front-row ticket to their work, and I even collaborated with some of them on a project.

That's not the only thing I had a front-row ticket to! As a Manchester United supporter for more than two decades, I had the chance to fulfil my lifelong dream of watching my team in action at Old Trafford! The initiative also gave me the opportunity to truly explore London, soak in the culture-arts, music, great sights, excellent food options (British food is not bland! #JusticeForBritishFood) and so much more! I am eternally grateful to Weber Shandwick for the opportunity, and I would certainly encourage everyone at IPG to apply for the initiative the next time around!"

The people in the team were all so welcoming and lovely, making the entire experience much more memorable. We’re back with another experience from our APAC Explorer. Sarah spent two weeks in Stockholm, visiting from Hong Kong.

“As a creative who has always been immersed in Asian culture and design trends, my stay at the Prime Weber Shandwick Stockholm office was a truly unique and valuable experience. It gave me the opportunity to immerse myself in Nordic culture, especially in a city brimming with thriving designs, galleries, museums, and architectural wonders.

I'm grateful for all the incredible colleagues I met during my time there. They came from diverse backgrounds and possessed highly specialized creative skills. The working environment was serene, and it ignited my inspiration. One highlight was the "Fika" tradition among the creatives, a coffee break where we all slowed down to reconnect and appreciate the good things in life and work. Additionally, it was fascinating to bring an Asian perspective to my colleagues in the Stockholm office, sharing insights into Hong Kong's mindset and trends. These experiences heightened my cultural sensitivity, which, in turn, helps in building brands by finding connection points in the real world."

The Explorer Programme allowed me to become more inclusive by fostering an appreciation for our differences. This, in turn, has made me a more empathetic and open-minded individual, enabling me to function as a flexible team player.”

I want to send a big shout-out to the Tokyo team for making it happen, the London team for being such wonderful hosts, and all the amazing folks who were part of this program's success.

@kentsun7182 - Kent Sun, our first explorer went from Guangzhou to Singapore. “First of all, I am so grateful for the Explorer program which gave me the opportunity to meet my clients and working partners in Singapore, whom I couldn’t meet in the past few years due to the pandemic. During my time in Singapore, I have spent a great deal of time engaging with colleagues, sharing what’s in Mainland China, and understanding more about the local business needs with the hope to collaborate in the future.”

We wrapped up the Weber Shandwick x PRovoke Media roundtable in Tokyo last evening, moderated by Arun Sudhaman with Chris Deri, Takako Ohyabu, Atsushi Matsunaga, Royanne Doi who came together to talk about navigating the shifting landscape of Governance, ESG Strategies, and Communications from a global perspective for Japanese organisations.

ESG is not a soft qualitative thing - this is about real market drivers. ESG story is mostly about a fact and dataset and how you get it out on a narrative, said Chris Deri.

CEOs need to get up there and communicate the core and fibre of what they think in terms of the vision of leading the company, commercial performance and value creation.

Weber Shandwick was at the PRovoke Media Asia Pacific Summit on 27 September, where Vanessa Ho Nikolovski, Chief Client & Growth Officer, Asia Pacific, moderated a session on The Importance of Women’s Health in Asia.

Traditionally, discussions on women's health have centred solely on reproductive health and women’s diseases, neglecting the full spectrum of health, wellness and well-being issues women face throughout their lives.

Research shows that across the Asia Pacific region, women are more prone to experiencing health inequities brought on by sociocultural influences and political environments that limit their ability to initiate and access optimal care. Despite women being disproportionately affected by diseases such as diabetes, Alzheimer’s and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) to name a few, there is a critical lack of female-focused information available.

During the session, Lindsay Davis, Founder, FemTech Association, Katherine Mendoza, Consumer Science & Product Experience Lead – APAC and China, Haleon, Kaja Natland, Regional President, Asia Pacific-Japan, Organon and Georgette Tan Adamopoulos, President, United Women Singapore, joined Vanessa to address the need to elevate women’s voices dedicated to shaping healthier futures for all women, and the critical role that communicators play in it.

We must work together to put women at the heart of health. The Weber Shandwick Collective is committed to sparking meaningful change by addressing the specific challenges of health, wellness and well-being issues that disproportionately affect a woman throughout her whole life.
